Where has my country gone

I just heard of another tragedy on the news today And yet no one seems to care.

I can remember there was a time that the whole country would take a moment to light a candle for those we lost. I never thought I see the day where somebody would burn our flag and people would cheer. I'm almost losing hope for our country. I don't even feel like this is our land anymore. It almost feels like a dream that I just can't wake up From. God where has my country gone I remember the days That we would all fight for each other and help our neighbors through hard times. And now all I see on the streets is people tearing each other apart over all

the lies

I still have hope I still believe in the American dream I still believe in God but it seems today that just living your life Just existing seems to anger people I don't understand why.

We all bleed Dream and grow old the same I don't know where this hate came from in the world. It sometimes feels like it's the blind leading the blind. God where has my country gone I still have hope but it is fading I still have hope for the American dream But I'm scared it's slipping away
