[Intro - 0:00 - 0:20]
(Steady marching snare drum beat enters: rump-a-pum-pum)
(Soft strings and hummed choir harmonizing gently)
(Choir background: "Peace on earth... rump-a-pum-pum...")
[Verse 1 - 0:20 - 0:50]
They told me of a King, rump-a-pum-pum
Born under shining stars, rump-a-pum-pum
To bring a song of peace, rump-a-pum-pum
To heal this heart of ours, rump-a-pum-pum
Pum-pum-pum-pum, rump-a-pum-pum
So to the manager low, rump-a-pum-pum
I go...
[Verse 2 - 0:50 - 1:20]
I am a simple child, rump-a-pum-pum
No silver or no gold, rump-a-pum-pum
No gifts fit for a King, rump-a-pum-pum
For holy hands to hold, rump-a-pum-pum
Pum-pum-pum-pum, rump-a-pum-pum
Shall I play on my drum, rump-a-pum-pum
For Him?
[Bridge / Orchestral Building - 1:20 - 1:50]
(Snare drum grows stronger, soft brass swells join the strings)
(Full mixed choir joins in rich four-part harmony)
(Choir: "Ah... play for the King, play for the child!")
The night grows clear and bright, rump-a-pum-pum
Guided by heavenly light, rump-a-pum-pum!
[Verse 3 - 1:50 - 2:25]
Mary nodded her head, rump-a-pum-pum
The oxen kept the beat, rump-a-pum-pum
I played my drum for Him, rump-a-pum-pum
I played my best for Him, rump-a-pum-pum
Pum-pum-pum-pum, rump-a-pum-pum
Then He smiled down at me, rump-a-pum-pum
Me and my drum...
[Outro / Grand Finale - 2:25 - 3:00]
(Majestic orchestral swell, full brass and soaring choir)
(Choir: "He smiled at me... rump-a-pum-pum!")
A quiet song of love, rump-a-pum-pum
Sent down from heaven above, rump-a-pum-pum
(Snare drum gradually softens, sweeping violins fade out slowly)
Rump-a-pum-pum... rump-a-pum-pum...
Peace on earth... pum-pum.
(Final soft snare tap and gentle chime sound)
