I set an empty paint can under leaks along the tin
And David kicks his muddy sneakers off and wanders in
Then Carlos brings two rusty fold-out chairs across the floor
And props a heavy wooden block to keep the drafty door
Now Jill is tearing open up a salty corner pack
While Jessica just sits and laughs against the wooden rack
The wind outside is blowing through the yard so bitter cold
We plug the buzzing heater in a socket that is old
A single yellow bulb is hanging from a cable light
Nobody wants to leave the yard because it feels so right
The water fills the garden gutter running down the side
We got no other plans tonight and do not need a ride

Some rusty rakes are leaning up against the timber wall
And Jessica just checks her screen and ignores every call
The puddles start to overflow along the gravel lane
Nobody gives a single damn about the pouring rain
We could just sit around until we see another day
Because there is no other place we really wanna stay
