Ol' 12 Tet

“Ol' 12 Tet” is an AI-generated Rap & Hip-Hop song with vocals, 2:29 long. It was created in Octa from one short text description: the lyrics, melody, vocal performance, arrangement and mix were all generated from that idea, then published by @ronegilbert620 to the Octa community in October 2026.

The vocal sits right on top of the beat and the words do the work; notice how the hook comes back word for word so it sticks after one listen. The lyrics on this page are the exact words the AI wrote and sang for this track.

The prompt behind it

“boom bap, minimal, hip hop percussion, hurdy-gurdy percussion, detuned drums, Boom bap with no hi-hats. The kick is replaced by soft Japanese Odaiko hits (P01, P02, P03) with deep sub-bass bloom (30-60Hz), a long tail and tree-trunk resonance. Add an extra high snap snare, a cracked jawbone tone pitched up 7 cents, and hard snaps on beats 2 and 4. Hurdy-gurdy crank works as percussion, panned left-right on the off-be”
