Intro - 0:00 to 0:15
(Vinyl crackle, warm bass swells in, relaxed drum intro)
Yeah...
Uh, test, 1-2, check it out.
Brooklyn state of mind, you know how we do.
Pour a little something, sit back, relax.
Let me paint a picture for 'em real quick.
Uh, check it.
[Verse 1 - 0:15 to 0:50]
Clock hit midnight, velvet suit, glass full of ice,
Rolled up in the coupe, yeah, the leather feel nice.
Remember back in '92, quarter in the slot,
Hustling on the corner, eyes open for the cops.
Now we sipping vintage, counting up the blue notes,
Silks from Italy, tailored down to the coat.
Overweight lover, smooth with the cadence,
Flow so heavy had 'em listening in patience.
Never was a gimmick, strictly bout the business,
Top floor penthouse, look at what the vision is.
Shining like the chandelier hanging from the ceiling,
Nothing in the world like a East Coast feeling.
Lyrical heavyweight, rhyming in the pocket,
Once the beat drop, ain't no way to stop it.
[Chorus - 0:50 to 1:10]
(Soulful vocal sample loop, heavy bass bump)
We started from the bottom, now we sitting on top,
East Coast king, yeah, the rhythm don't stop.
Spit it for the block, spit it for the crew,
That's just the way that the East Side do.
Yeah, we sitting on top,
Keep the champagne flowing till the beat drops.
[Verse 2 - 1:10 to 1:45]
Uh, step up in the room, spot the spotlight glowing,
Rhymes like butter, keep the smooth rhythm flowing.
Pockets stay thick like a Brooklyn phonebook,
Catch me in the studio polishing the hook.
Used to dream of royalty, now we rock crown,
Every time I speak, you can hear the whole town.
Lazy flow, precise with the timing,
Gold chains heavy, but the mind keep shining.
From the stoop to the stage, strictly high class,
Pour another glass, let the good times last.
Tell 'em all to watch out, classic in the making,
Every single beat is a triumph in the taking.
[Chorus - 1:45 to 2:05]
(Soulful vocal sample loop, heavy bass bump)
We started from the bottom, now we sitting on top,
East Coast king, yeah, the rhythm don't stop.
Spit it for the block, spit it for the crew,
That's just the way that the East Side do.
Yeah, we sitting on top,
Keep the champagne flowing till the beat drops.
[Outro - 2:05 to 2:30]
(Horns fade slowly, bass riding out)
Yeah, just like that.
90s style, golden era.
Keep it smooth, keep it heavy.
East Side, all day.
Uh... fade it out.
