Verse 1
Late night shadows crawling up the wall
Waiting by the phone praying that you call
Room smells like your perfume and red wine
Got me wishing I could freeze back the time
Ice clinking slow in an empty glass
Thinking 'bout the moments that we let pass
Chorus
Wrapped up in velvet smoke and your touch
Baby I don't ever wanna feel this much
Whisper in the dark let your body sway
Don't you walk away till the break of day
Yeah wrapped up in velvet smoke tonight
Making every wrong feel a little right
Verse 2
Silk sheets tangled on the king size bed
Every single promise that you softly said
Running fingers gently down your spine
For a little second you were truly mine
City lights glowing through the window pane
Wash away the heartache in the gentle rain
Chorus
Wrapped up in velvet smoke and your touch
Baby I don't ever wanna feel this much
Whisper in the dark let your body sway
Don't you walk away till the break of day
Yeah wrapped up in velvet smoke tonight
Making every wrong feel a little right
Bridge
No more lies left to cover up the pain
Just your heartbeat running in my vein
Hold me close till the morning comes around
Catch me now before I hit the ground
Chorus
Wrapped up in velvet smoke and your touch
Baby I don't ever wanna feel this much
Whisper in the dark let your body sway
Don't you walk away till the break of day
Yeah wrapped up in velvet smoke tonight
Making every wrong feel a little right
How this r&b & soul song was made.
“Velvet Smoke” is an AI-generated R&B & Soul song with vocals, 3:41 long. It was created in Octa from one short text description: the lyrics, melody, vocal performance, arrangement and mix were all generated from that idea, then published by @zidanesignetepe1 to the Octa community in August 2026.
The vocal leads with runs and harmonies over a slow, deep groove; the chords are rich seventh voicings and the bass moves melodically instead of holding the root. The lyrics on this page are the exact words the AI wrote and sang for this track.
The prompt behind it
“contemporary r&b, smooth soul, rhodes piano, 808 sub bass, slow groove”
